EAL CPD Project

training JPG NALDIC cpd.jpg

NALDIC recently made a successful bid to the Bell Foundation to support the development and piloting of two EAL CPD courses. This hugely exciting project will help NALDIC to develop two EAL courses - one for school based EAL coordinators and one for primary mainstream teachers. The development and piloting phase will take place over a two year period and on completion of the project, we hope to be able to offer the courses to teachers around the country.

It is intended that each course will be equivalent to 20 credits at M level. The courses will be designed for study over one academic year and each course will involve 30 hours of face-to-face teaching, 30 hours of supported distance learning including 10 hours of on-line tutorials, 60 hours of school based activities, 30 hours for preparation of an assessed final project and 50 hours of personal study. Accreditation will be sought once the courses have been developed.

We are currently inviting expressions of interest in developing and piloting these courses. The three commissions available are:

Coordinator for NALDIC CPD courses

Course materials author/developer EAL Coordinator/Specialist Teacher course

Course materials author/developer Primary Mainstream Teacher course

If you are passionate about securing high quality EAL professional development for teachers, please explore the opportunities for each commission using the right hand links. To express your interest in one of the commissions, please submit the following:
