The distinctiveness of EAL
This one day course explores the background to current thinking in the field of EAL and considers implications for EAL teaching in schools. Participants focus on the theoretical underpinning for EAL pedagogy, and use and evaluate a range of practical activities and tasks for integrating the teaching of language and content. The course is not an introduction to EAL but is intended for EAL specialists and teachers who wish to develop their teaching with EAL learners
Participants who have attended this course say:
"I feel better informed about the theory that underpins EAL teaching practice"
"I have learned some new strategies and methods which I hope to use in school"
"My awareness, particularly of cultural differences, has been improved."
"Loads of strategies but with real academic rigour. Thank you!"
