Speech and language therapy for bilingual pupils
Colleagues who were not able to join us at our over subscribed Annual NALDIC Conference 'EAL and Additional Needs' on November 26 2011 will be delighted that they are now able to watch one of the presentations on our YouTube channel.
In 'Developing a language therapy package for bilingual pupils' Dr Sean Pert discussed definitions of speech and language impairment and outlines the role of therapists with bilingual pupils. His presentation offers teachers insights into how bilingual childrens' specific speech and language needs should be assessed and met through therapeutic interventions. The accompanying powerpoint presentation Developing a language therapy package to meet the needs of EAL learners - is also available.
NALDIC wishes to thank Sean for his enlightening presentation and his kind permission to allow this to be shared with teachers and others through YouTube.
